Coach Coordinator Message
This bulletin is for all of our long-time, returning, and new coming parents or volunteers who are seeking the opportunity to give back to the grassroots of minor hockey. PCMHA is committed to the long term development of our young athletes and in order to provide them with the most fulfilling minor hockey experience it is imperative to have proper instruction and continue to support and foster a coaching faculty.
Hockey Canada and the NCCP have various coaching certification requirements depending on which level you choose to coach. There are a number of pathways and entry points as well as some risk management/awareness items that are necessary to complete.
For those who are interested in coaching or participating as on-ice helpers you must first complete the following:
Criminal Record Check
Respect In Sport
Concussion Awareness Training Tool
Once you have completed those items you can participate in practices.
In order to be further “rostered” as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach on a team – you must complete the respective Hockey Canada Clinic for the level of hockey that you will be coaching.
Further Information can be found on the Coaches Corner>Education/Requirements page.
Additionally, the Hockey Canada/NCCP page below:
