This bulletin is for all of our long-time, returning, and new coming parents or volunteers who are seeking the opportunity to give back to the grassroots of minor hockey. PCMHA is committed to the long term development of our young athletes and in order to provide them with the most fulfilling minor hockey experience it is imperative to have proper instruction and continue to support and foster a coaching faculty.

Hockey Canada and the NCCP have various coaching certification requirements depending on which level you choose to coach. There are a number of pathways and entry points as well as some risk management/awareness items that are necessary to complete.

For those who are interested in coaching or participating as on-ice helpers you must first complete the following:

Criminal Record Check

Respect In Sport

Concussion Awareness Training Tool

Once you have completed those items you can participate in practices.

In order to be further “rostered” as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach on a team – you must complete the respective Hockey Canada Clinic for the level of hockey that you will be coaching.

Further Information can be found on the Coaches Corner>Education/Requirements page.

Additionally, the Hockey Canada/NCCP page below:

This weekend, Saturday, Sept. 1st at 4:15 p.m. the Coquitlam Express will take on the Surrey Eagles in an exhibition game at the Poco Rec Centre.

Entrance is by donation via cash or a canned good to support the Share Society.

Bring your family and friends down to the arena to watch some great hockey while providing support to a community organization. Sounds like a great time out! We look forward to seeing you there!

The Coquitlam Express Jr. A Hockey Club are preparing for the start of their 2018/19 season. We are searching for families to provide our players a home away from home. We are in need of families that can provide a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for their player(s). Typically players are billeted from mid-August until Mid-March or longer depending on the club’s playoff success.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

*A first hand view of what it’s like to be a Coquitlam Express Player

*The ability to make a positive impact in your community and for your local hockey club.

*You will get the opportunity to make a difference in a young player’s life by providing their “home away from home” while they pursue their hockey and life dreams.

*You will receive a monthly stipend to help cover some the costs for groceries as well as season tickets for you and your immediate family with access to team events and support from our billet coordinater and coaches.

WITHOUT BILLET FAMILIES THESE YOUNG MEN WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CHASE THEIR DREAMS. DO YOU WANT TO JOIN OUR TEAM AND HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

If you are interested in having a player or multiple players billet with you please contact Leanne at pawwalk@telus.net
